Who we are
Trehan & Company, Accountants & Tax Consultants, was established in 2009 to serve Edmonton and surrounding areas. We provide accounting and tax services for individuals, small and medium size businesses & corporations, and the line in our logo sums up our work: Corporate Accounts, Personal Tax Returns & Consultation.
On any given day our work might include a T1 personal return for a family, a self-employed return for a tradesperson, a combined return for a taxi or delivery driver, a set of books for a growing company or a corporate filing at year-end. We also help clients set up new businesses, run payroll, file GST returns and respond when the CRA has questions.
What ties it all together is the way we work. We're a local, founder-led firm, and we believe the best accounting comes from knowing our clients – their goals, their paperwork and the questions that keep them up at night. That's why we focus on relationships that continue year after year, not one-time transactions.
Our story: from India to Edmonton
Our firm's story begins with the career of our founder, Ramneek Trehan, and the move that brought him to Edmonton.

India – building a foundation
Ramneek began his career as an Accountant in India, where he worked until 2003. Those years grounded him in the day-to-day discipline of accurate, well-organized records.

Leicester, U.K. – 2003 to 2009
From 2003 to 2009 he worked as an Accounting Technician with Ashok Desor & Co. (ACCA) in Leicester, U.K. The role added experience in a professional practice and a second tax system to his background.

Edmonton – 2009
In 2009 Ramneek moved to Canada and started his own accounting firm, Trehan & Company. We first provided our services in south Edmonton, getting to know local families and business owners one return at a time.

We then opened our branch office at Whyte Ave. That office sits at 8118 - 100 St. NW, just off Whyte Ave, with FREE parking for clients.

Meet our founder, Ramneek Trehan, Accountant, PBA
Ramneek Trehan, Accountant, PBA, is the founding partner of Trehan & Company and brings over 27 years of accounting experience to the firm. His career has taken him across three countries – India, the United Kingdom and Canada – and each step has added something to the way he serves clients today.
That background matters in a city like Edmonton, which is home to so many people building something new – a business, a career, a life in a new country. Ramneek understands from his own experience what it means to start fresh and learn how an unfamiliar system works, and he brings that patience to every conversation.

Our mission
Our mission is to help Edmontonians claim every eligible deduction and expense they're entitled to – the ones people so often miss simply through lack of awareness. Child care, medical expenses, moving costs, tuition carried forward from earlier years, tools for tradespeople and school supplies for teachers are all examples of claims that can slip through the cracks.
To make that mission practical, we use a Personal Tax Return Checklist that lists income documents and deductions item by item. When you book a personal tax appointment online, you can tick off the items that apply to you and the checklist is attached to your booking, so we're prepared before you sit down with us.
We see it as part of our job to ask the questions you might not think to ask. A good return isn't just accurate – it's complete.
